Elements and Performance Criteria

1. Plan and prepare to cure concrete.
   • Review and clarify task to cure concrete.
   • Review task specifications and check to make sure they are in accordance with legislation, regulations and codes of practice.
   • Review work health and safety (WHS) requirements for the task in accordance with safety plans and policies.
   • Identify preventative barrier requirements.
   • Review environmental requirements for the task in accordance with environmental plans and legislative requirements.
   • Select plant, tools and equipment, check for serviceability and rectify or report any faults.
   • Acquire materials for the task and locate them safely ready for use.
2. Apply curing technique to concrete.
   • Erect identified safety signage and barricades, and fit personal protective equipment (PPE).
   • Install and maintain preventative barriers to stop curing agents from effecting surrounding environment.
   • Apply curing compound and maintain curing method on concrete surface to task specifications.
   • Protect concrete during curing process.
3. Clean up after curing concrete.
   • Clear work area and dispose of, reuse or recycle materials in accordance with legislation, regulations, codes of practice and task requirements.
   • Clean, check, maintain and store chemicals, tools and equipment in accordance with manufacturers’ specifications and workplace requirements.
